Operational Investor & Participation.

Capital alone is rarely enough. I bring entrepreneurial participation and operational involvement together: as an investor who doesn't just finance, but rolls up his sleeves and takes on responsibility.

Overview

Alongside my interim mandates, I am active as an operational investor: I take entrepreneurial stakes in companies and ventures and bring not only capital, but also what decides success in critical phases – operational experience, real involvement and entrepreneurial responsibility.

This is especially valuable in succession, growth or phases of change, when companies need a partner who brings capital and hands at the same time. From my own experience: startups, angel investments and the buildout of my own ventures like CANARYmedtech and Navyra.

Situations

Typical situations for an operational participation

Through Schneiders Ventures I build my own companies and participate operationally: CANARYmedtech (medtech on Lanzarote) and Navyra (workforce automation, compliance and knowledge continuity) are ventures that I don't just finance, but actively shape as an entrepreneur, from the idea through positioning to operational implementation.
‍
This dual role of capital and operational involvement is the core of my understanding of being an investor: I understand the reality inside the company because I work in it myself, and I align stakes toward viable value creation.
‍
That's how a partnership on equal footing emerges: entrepreneurial capital, operational experience and genuine interest in long-term success, instead of a purely financial stake with no contribution to the business.

Investing with an attitude: impact and an entrepreneurial contribution.

BEEMING GROUP · Impact Investing & Angel: With the founding of the BEEMING GROUP and my time as an angel investor, I learned early to think about stakes entrepreneurially, with a focus on impact, not just return.
‍
As an angel investor, I didn't just finance young companies but supported them with advice, network and operational experience, precisely in the phases when founding teams need the most support.

This attitude shapes Schneiders Ventures to this day: participation means responsibility. I invest where I can make a real difference with capital and operational involvement.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions: Operating Investor & Equity Stake

What is the difference between an operating investor and a financial investor?

A financial investor mainly provides capital. An operating investor also brings operational experience, genuine hands-on involvement and entrepreneurial responsibility, especially in critical phases. Jens Schneiders understands the reality inside a company because he works in it himself, and aligns investments with sustainable value creation rather than purely financial returns.

How does an equity stake with hands-on involvement work in principle?

It starts with getting to know each other: the business model, figures, team and the question of whether the long-term perspective holds. We then agree together which role Jens Schneiders takes on, for example in management, on the advisory board or as a sparring partner, and how the stake is structured. There are no off-the-shelf terms; specialised advisers support the legal and tax implementation.

In which situations does an operating investor make sense?

Above all in succession, growth or periods of upheaval, when a company needs a partner who brings both capital and hands-on support. A typical case is an owner without a successor immediately available, see business succession, or a growth company that needs structure and experience for its next phase.

What experience as a founder and investor does Jens Schneiders bring?

He has founded and run several companies, including German Transfer with a network of 400 chauffeur and transfer providers, was active as an angel investor and founded BEEMING GROUP with a focus on impact investing. Through Schneiders Ventures he builds his own ventures such as CANARYmedtech and navyra. The WBS Group case study shows how a proof of concept becomes a venture.

Which companies are a good fit for an investment by Schneiders Ventures?

The focus is on mid-sized companies, succession situations and growth companies where capital and hands-on involvement make a real difference. The guiding principle is Purpose × People × Planet × Profit: impact and profitability are considered together.
