Overview

Not every accounting function runs on SAP. Loretta Schneiders led an accounting team of 20 in Oracle EBS at Live Nation, worked in Dynamics 365 at Element and with abas, Business Central and SAP Business One at Wabtec. She takes over payables and receivables and supports closing work in live operations – without a long ramp-up in the system.

An accounting role in an Oracle EBS or Fusion environment is vacant, and finding a replacement with exactly this system experience takes time.

A subsidiary works in Dynamics 365 or Business Central, the group in a different system. Reconciliations, reporting and interfaces with the shared service centre need someone who understands both worlds.

Or, in a mid-sized company, abas ERP and DATEV run side by side, and the hand-off between merchandise management, accounting and the tax adviser needs structure.

Which Oracle and Microsoft systems are covered?

Loretta Schneiders led an accounting team of 20 in Oracle E-Business Suite at Live Nation and also knows Oracle Fusion. At Element she worked in Microsoft Dynamics 365, and at Wabtec with Business Central, abas ERP and SAP Business One. She also works with DATEV, which in mid-sized German companies is often the interface to the tax adviser.

What if the subsidiary and the group use different systems?

That is common, for example Dynamics or Business Central locally and a different ERP at group level. What matters are clean reconciliations, clear responsibilities between local accounting and the shared service centre, and reporting that both sides understand. How such a transition is prepared is shown in the Element case study.

How do you work with DATEV and the tax adviser?

In many mid-sized companies, accounting runs fully or partly through DATEV or passes data to the tax adviser. We ensure complete documents, reconciled accounts and clear handovers, so that the tax adviser and auditors can work with reliable figures. Tax questions remain with the tax adviser; accounting provides the clean basis.

What if a move to another ERP is coming up?

Then we combine day-to-day operations with the preparation: cleaning up open items, checking master data, documenting processes and supporting testing from an accounting perspective. The system change itself is described under ERP migration in accounting. That way, accounting stays stable while the system landscape changes.

Is a remote assignment in Oracle or Dynamics possible?

Yes, provided secure remote access to the system is set up. Loretta Schneiders works from Lanzarote for companies across the DACH region – on site, hybrid or remote, most recently with around 25% of her time on site. For closings, audits or team meetings she comes to the company. We are happy to agree the right model via the contact form.
